Profile
ICO - International Consulting Office is an engineering consulting
group that brings together a collection of worldwide leading engineers
and offices for consulting services in geotechnics.
The strength of ICO is its ability to cost-effectively utilize the
expertise of international leaders without the need and expense of
operating a central office.
ICO’s staff take advantage of recent year's advances in IT
which allow them to be located throughout the world yet still pool
their respective resources to perform specific engineering services
efficiently as though they were all located in one office. This is
achieved using sophisticated collaborative tools that use the internet
to bring people and skills together.
ICO draws its expertise from the combination of highly educated
engineers from leading international universities, such as Cambridge
(UK), Berkeley (USA), and the Technion (Israel). Its staff has
extensive past experience on large scale projects and fosters strong
relations to academia and research.
Projects are delegated to teams of engineers that are customized
according to the specific needs of the project (e.g. tunneling,
off-shore foundations, earthquakes, slope stability) in order to ensure
that quality and value are provided to the client.
As geotechnical engineers, the group handles and advises on solutions
for a diverse range of geotechnical problems involved in civil
engineering projects, including:
- Foundation systems, both onshore and offshore
- Slope stability and design
- Retaining walls and reinforced soil
- Dams and embankments
- Tunneling
- Pipelines
- Rigid and flexible pavement design
- Monitoring bridges and infrastructure using
fiber optics
The company consists primarily of a team of young, dynamic engineers
with specific expertise in numerical modeling and the use of the most
advanced engineering tools on the market. In addition, the company
draws on the vast experience of senior engineers and their office
project record (e.g. Klar Israel Ltd). These include projects in the
former Soviet Union States, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria,
Albania, Guatemala, Cuba, Nigeria, Congo, Angola, Kenya, Ethiopia,
Papua New Guinea, and UK.
Individual members of the team have been involved in large scale
projects including the Al-Hamra Tower in Kuwait, Heathrow Airport
Terminal 5 in England, KCRC tunnels in Hong Kong, and Intel's 65 nm
processors factory in Israel.
